I would start to worrying that the window of time to pull the pin of a card after a year may be closing soon for redemption. Maybe find someone unfortunate, where they're forced  to buy an update to get a tablet going again.   Unlike a old DS 708 where the OS is on the SD card , and you can shut it off and slip in an older backup SD card (in event on a Newer version of vehicle software,a  special function on older car does not work or a function got lost)
   A Maxi Sys OS is built directly into the tablet itself, and once the System firmware of it is updated I think there is risk the older software might not be backward compatible with latest system version firmware.I would ask support how long you got to redeem it or if you can sit on a unused update card for years until your  tablet  crashes and you need to do a factory reset and update.Hate to have Autel's  server no longer recognize it and just tells you some BS to contact your local authorized dealer to get a replacement card.

Where's you lives

    Can that update card you bought for the MS 905 also be used to update a DS708 instead, since I think update cost for a DS708 normally cost less $ than a Maxi Sys Mini? There might be people with inoperative DS 708 besides just MS905s that need to buy an update in order to get their inoperative scanner working again.
